Child Dental Benefits Scheme

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) commenced on 1 January 2014 and provides access to benefits for basic dental services to around 3.4 million children aged 2-17 years. The CDBS has replaced the Medicare Teen Dental Plan and is administered by the Australian Government Department of Human Services.

The total benefit entitlement is capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. The CDBS is means tested.

Health Fund Benefits

We work with most health funds, including Veteran’s Affairs. To determine your benefits and coverage, contact your health fund directly or ring our dental clinic to speak with one of our knowledgeable team members.

An estimate of treatment costs can be provided before all appointments. We also provide detailed quotations of any required treatment. These include item numbers so you can check your health fund rebate before treatment.

New patients often ask if we are preferred providers. No – we are not preferred providers to any of the health funds. We want our patients to be able to have the freedom to chose what treatment they would like to have and what they need to have, rather than depending on what their health fund allows them to have.

“Did you know that you can apply for the Early Release of your Superannuation to pay for your, or any of your family member’s, dental & orthodontic treatments?”

We are happy to introduce SuperCare – an external service provider – that can assist you to make an Application via the Early Release of Superannuation (ERS) Program, operated by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), to cover Dental & Orthodontic treatment costs.
