At Absolute Dental Care, Dr Paul Rollason works closely with some of our skilled local specialists to provide patients with a solution to missing teeth with natural and lifelike dental implants.
Planning for dental implants – Adequate bone must exist to support the dental implant. X-rays and advanced imaging will determine if sufficient bone is present, or if additional procedures, such as bone grafting, will be necessary.
Placement of dental implants – Your oral surgeon or periodontist will identify the ideal location to place your dental implant. Dental implants fuse with the natural bone, providing stable results that is almost like having your natural tooth again.
Healing and integration – Dental implants take approximately three to four months to fully fuse with the bone,
Dental implant restoration – Dr Rollason will design a natural-looking dental implant crown to restore your smile and chewing function.
With good home care and professional dental visits, your dental implant can last many years – or even a lifetime. In addition to replacing single missing teeth, dental implants can secure dentures and bridges when patients have multiple missing teeth.
To learn more about dental implants, contact our Taringa dental clinic. We welcome new patients and will help you regain your smile.
At Absolute Dental Care, we treat entire families, including kids. Helping children develop healthy habits and a positive outlook about looking after their teeth and gums is essential and can set the tone for their future smile.
We welcome children from an early age to accompany Mum or Dad to their appointments. We can give your child a ride in the chair, let them hold a toothbrush and introduce them to Dr Paul Rollason and our team.
When your child is ready to cooperate, we will give them their own check-up and clean appointment to monitor their oral health and development.
Early childhood dental visits are a great time for parents and caregivers to ask questions about thumb-sucking, bottle use and soothers. We can also talk about healthy snacks that keep baby (primary) teeth healthy. While primary teeth will eventually fall out to be replaced by adult teeth, they are essential to development and are the blueprint for your child’s permanent teeth.
We enjoy treating the families of Taringa and the surrounding communities and welcome everyone from your toddler to your grandparents. Our family-friendly dental clinic and personalised approach to dental treatment will promote a healthy smile through every life stage.
If you wake up each morning and experience jaw pain, facial tension, headaches or teeth sensitivity, you may have a condition called bruxism. Bruxism is a chronic teeth grinding habit that most often occurs during sleep. You may not even realise that you grind your teeth. Some signs include:
Teeth grinding can feel painful, but it can also cause damage to your teeth and jaw joints when left untreated. Cracked teeth, popping jaw joints and headaches are some of the chief complaints from patients living with bruxism.
In many cases, treatment begins with a nightguard, which places a barrier between the upper and lower teeth, preventing cracked teeth and fractures. Adjusting lifestyle habits, like avoiding alcohol, tobacco and using relaxation techniques can also help.
If you have jaw pain, you may have a condition called temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD or TMJ). We welcome you to contact our Taringa dental clinic and book an appointment with Dr Paul Rollason for a solution to teeth grinding.
As many as 70 per cent of Australians have some level of gum disease. Periodontal (gum) disease is an infection, and if left untreated, it can lead to tooth loss. It begins when the bacteria in plaque causes gums to become inflamed. Studies have found that infections in the mouth can play havoc elsewhere in the body.
That is why it is important to regularly visit your dentist. Unless you have periodontal disease or other oral health complications, twice-yearly visits are usually adequate to keep your oral health in check. At each check-up and clean, Dr Paul Rollason or your hygienist will perform a periodontal evaluation to measure the pockets that develop between the teeth and gums. When pocketing occurs, bacteria collect, irritate the gums and cause inflammation and bleeding. Other signs of periodontal disease include:
The best way to avoid developing periodontal disease is to brush twice daily, floss teeth and maintain your regular dental check-up and clean appointments. Even with diligent home care, tartar will still collect and must be removed in the clinic by our gentle and skilled dental hygienist.
If it is time for your next dental clean, contact our Taringa dental clinic to arrange a booking.
At Absolute Dental Care, your safety and excellent health are our highest priorities. We are an Accredited Dental Practice through the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards.
We use heat and pressure sterilisation of our instruments in our autoclave machine after utilising an ultrasonic cleaner using a cassette system that reduces the handling of instruments. Each packet of instruments is marked with the date and a heat-sensitive seal that changes colour when the proper temperature is reached to eliminate pathogens and bacteria.
Each set of our instruments is logged and tracked in our system, and we perform regular maintenance on all of our safety equipment to keep it running optimally.
Our treatment rooms are sterilised after each patient using either the barrier method or proper disinfectants. If you ever want to see our sterilisation process, we are proud to show off our hard work. We are happy to provide a clinic tour for those patients who have concerns about their health and are interested in how we prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
If you are looking for a family dentist who puts your health and safety above all else, contact us to arrange an appointment with Dr Paul Rollason at our Taringa dental clinic.
Yes, we can. We use Smartbleach®, which is a photo-dynamic teeth whitening procedure that combines laser light and a patented alkaline gel to whiten your teeth in approximately one hour. More than six years of research in Australian and European Universities have shown Smartbleach® to be completely safe. Assuming you look after your teeth and gums, experience has shown that the benefits can last for many years.
We offer a number of teeth bleaching options in our Taringa dental clinic. The best way to get started is to talk to Dr Paul Rollason or your dental hygienist at your next appointment. If you have an upcoming special event and would like a whiter smile, we welcome you to contact us as soon as possible, so we can help you look and feel your best for your reunion, holiday, wedding or first date. Both in-chair and take-home whitening systems are options that have helped our patients regain the white, healthy-looking smile of their youth.
The best time to whiten your teeth is following a dental clean because it removes the tartar from the teeth that can interfere with the whitening process. It is a great incentive for people who are trying to quit tobacco or coffee.
Failure to do so will incur a penalty payment for the full amount of your planned treatment.
