Is it worth being in extras cover with a private health fund?
This is a question that we get asked at the front desk every day over and over. And the answer is – you need to see how much you are spending with your health fund extras and how much you get as a rebate and then how much you still have to pay for the gap. If you are a person who has 2 check ups and cleans a year and nothing else, then it may not be for you. If you actually put that money aside that you pay on your extras premium into a separate bank account you may realise that you are financially better off. It also depends use other “extras” such as if you get new glasses every year etc. It’s a personal decision.
